SAMBA HOLDINGS, INC. PARTNERS WITH THE DWI RESOURCE CENTER ALBUQUERQUE, NM – October 27, 2009 – SAMBA Holdings, Inc., a New Mexico company providing online driver record monitoring is offering its technology in partnership with the DWI Resource Center to raise public awareness of DWI violations issued in the state of New Mexico. The partner program was announced at a joint press conference today in Albuquerque in anticipation of Halloween celebrations and the upcoming holiday season.
“Beginning around Halloween, our State experiences a spike in DWI violations,” said Greg Miller, SAMBA CEO. “We hope through sponsoring this partnership, we will create additional public awareness about the frequency of DWIs generated statewide each month, and hopefully prevent a few tragedies this holiday season.” Miller said SAMBA would use FleetWatch™, its automated driver record monitoring service, which monitors DWIs by school bus drivers, commercial truckers and other vehicle operators in New Mexico. Using these statistics, SAMBA will make a donation to the DWI Resource Center based on DWI convictions. “We are grateful to any organization that wants to work with us to reduce death and injury in New Mexico that is the result of DWI,” said Linda Atkinson, director of the DWI Resource Center. “This will be another tool in the arsenal to help us meet those goals.” She said the money will be put to immediate use as Halloween and the upcoming holidays are fast approaching and the rate of DWI incidents increases. Atkinson said DWI continues to be one of the city’s most pressing social issues. She pointed out that in 2006, the most recent year for which data is available, more than 2,386 people in Bernalillo County were victims of alcohol-involved crashes, which resulted in 38 deaths and 661 people who suffered seriously injury. Miller said the FleetWatch service is used to ensure that only qualified drivers are behind the wheel of customer vehicles. Locally, driver record monitoring is used by New Mexico school districts, government agencies and numerous businesses. SAMBA’s automated service identifies high-risk drivers for employers. With this information, employers can address the problem before a serious accident occurs. SAMBA FleetWatch is currently being used by over 2,500 businesses, cities, municipalities, workers’ compensation organizations and insurance agencies nationwide and monitors over 250,000 drivers. Many of those customers report a reduction in insurance costs and the number of work-related accidents as a result of SAMBA’s program. Miller said SAMBA’s goal is to provide a “valuable driver record monitoring service that reduces accidents, employer liability, saves administrative time and helps protect our communities.” ### About SAMBA Holdings Inc.
