SAMBA HOLDINGS, INC. ANNOUNCES AUTOMATED DRIVER RECORD MONITORING FOR FLORIDA STATE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

ALBUQUERQUE—SAMBA Holdings, Inc. announced that in February 2009, the automated Driver Record Monitoring service will be available to Florida state government agencies. Florida cities, municipalities, and government agencies can receive automated-monthly driver reports, which highlight an employee’s driver citations, license revocations, suspensions, cancellations, and license expirations and upcoming renewal dates.

Driver Record Monitoring reduces the significant liability risk associated with having unlicensed or dangerous drivers behind the wheel of government-owned vehicles, or government employees driving personal vehicles on business. SAMBA routinely checks an agency’s driver records and identifies all new incidents, so that management can quickly take appropriate action.

Greg Miller, COO, explains, “SAMBA is currently used as a proactive risk management tool by hundreds of cities and municipalities. SAMBA has proven that earlier identification of unlicensed, or dangerous drivers is necessary to reduce the multimillion-dollar suits levied against the perceived deep pockets of cities and municipalities. Currently, government agencies, school insurance authorities, self-insured risk management pools, and state Workers’ Compensation organizations utilize the service to identify unlicensed and high-risk drivers. Management then has the information needed to take immediate action – before serious accidents occur.” Florida joins a growing number of states where SAMBA Driver Record Monitoring is available to both government and commercial transportation sectors – California, New Mexico, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Tennessee and Ohio.
